Crock-Potted Again!

Last night I made two “Dips” for dinner (Yes, DINNER – that’s just the way I roll! 😉 ) – and served them with Multi Grain Tostitos (to die for!), brocolli, celery, and pretzels (mushrooms, cailiflower, and jicama would have been good if I had had some!)  See… it’s a relatively rounded meal when you take into account the turkey sausage!

*I had the recipes all typed out to share but since the verdicts weren’t favorable (from me or the kids!) – I figured they weren’t worth sharing!  Sigh 🙄.  I tried… 

One dip was from Kraft Food & Family , which despite this recipe not being the greatest I highly recommend, (You can register for their F*R*E*E magazine H*E*R*E) 

 

 

Since I’m still hungry I’m going to use this opportunity to share a NEW LIST…

MY TOP 10 FAST FOOD MEALS

Not in order as it depends on my “food mood”, as I’m sure YOU know:

Subway – Tuna sub on wheat with pepper jack, lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber, yellow peppers and sweet onion dressing

Culver’s – Fried Cod Sandwich with Cheese Curds

Wendy’s – Spicy Chicken Sandwich meal with x-tra Tomatoes

Portillo’s – Chopped Salad (Yes, I said salad – it’s THAT good!)

Portillo’s – Hamburger (Lettuce, Onion, Mustard) & Onion Rings

McDonald’s – Grilled Chicken Southwest Salad (there’s that S-Word again!)

McDonald’s – Filet O-Fish and greasy/but not soggy fries

Jimmy Johns – #5 (Italian sub) – light Mayo and extra dressing

Steak and Shake – Frisco Burger (grilled bread with swiss, thousand island, tomatoes, and lettuce)  with Fries

Popeyes – Fried Shrimp with Red Beans and Rice

Honorable Mention:  Arby’s – Giant Roast Beef with Mustard and Curly Fries

Is it any wonder my Triglyceride number is insanely high! 

My Total Cholesterol is 330!  (Gulp – and Yes, I just started taking Crestor!)

I don’t know why it’s so appealing but as it goes on I just found myself smiling bigger and BIGGER!

As Seen On TV

I bought a Ped Egg (with handle!) today:

I finally gave in to that silly commercial and decided that it certainly couldn’t make my dry, scaly feet any worse!  It actually worked pretty well – except the dry skin doesn’t ALL get captured in the egg – making it messier than they describe.  It does make them smoother, though, and will make my heel lotion more successful. 

So my verdict is – * * * of 4 stars

Hello – you must live in the Chicago area because you mentioned Portillo’s! OH MAN I love that place! Chili cheese dogs especially!!!!! I lived there most of my life but I live in Colorado now and I have regular Portillo’s cravings. Lucky me I’m going back next month! WHOO HOO! It’s been 2 years!

They say that muscle is heavier "by volume" than fat is, which means 5 lbs. of muscle takes up less space than 5 lbs. of fat within a body. I'm a believer. This totally explains how your clothes begin to fit better even though the numbers on the scale aren' t moving very fast.



This is GROSS. I know. But I'd rather see the fat HERE than on my body...


Each time we “resist” an urge to fall off plan or not exercise we strengthen our “resistance muscle” and each time we “give in” to temptation we strengthen our “give in muscle” making it easier to either "resist" or "give in" next time.
